CDI Management Solutions (CMS) was founded in 2023 as a subsidiary of Child Development, Inc., in the desire to create better solutions than what existed in the market – and develop effective solutions to address problems that weren't being addressed. CMS develops software and services for organizations providing services under alternative payment program contracts, or childcare centers, schools and other programs serving children and families.
Child Development, Inc. has been focused on helping low-income families and children for decades. Since 1976 under the brand name “Choices for Children,” Child Development, Inc. has been assisting low-income families gain access to subsidized childcare services in both Santa Clara and Stanislaus counties. Throughout those years, much of the work the company did to benefit children and families was done using tedious, cumbersome, and manual processes. Knowledge of technology wasn’t common in the industry despite the company’s location in Silcon Valley.
We knew there must be a better way. Returning to the office after the COVID pandemic, we set out to create a new way of addressing the challenges we face, determined to be more productive and efficient, and better serve those in our community. We had the expertise, so we decided to create the tools to solve our own problems, because who knew the problems that needed solving better than we did. Other software companies lacked the hands-on experience managing Alternative Payment Program contracts and working with families and children like we did. Our company was on the front lines and knew what was needed.
